Mid-Summer Norfolk

With Iolo Williams

Saturday 9th – Wednesday 13th June 2018

Join Iolo and guide Alan Davies for some of the best summer birdwatching that Britain has to offer on the North Norfolk coast. The marshes and lagoons are alive with breeding birds and the last of the migrants heading north.

A relaxed-paced 5-day guided birdwatching holiday visiting some of Britain’s flagship nature reserves and hidden corners in this beautiful area.  It’s an exciting time of year for birdwatching and enjoying the beautiful coastline. As well as resident birds there are also the summer migrants. In June anything can and does turn up on this fantastic stretch of wild coastline.

The marshes and lagoons are packed with birds. You might see Avocet, Bittern, Bearded Tit, Marsh Harrier, Barn Owl, Common Crane, Dartford Warbler, Wood Lark and Cetti’s Warbler. The main focus will be the breeding birds that make their home on the North Norfolk coast including Nightjar, Stone Curlew, Little Tern, Turtle Dove and perhaps a real rarity or two. Highlights of previous June trips have included Spectacled Warbler, Pacific Golden Plover and last year the very rare Great Knot.

You can expect to see around 120 bird species during your stay in this magical part of the world.
